Family is the most important single social unit of society.
The Bible says in Ecclesiastes 4.9- 12
“Two are better than one,
Because they have a good return for their work:
If one falls down, his friend can help him up.
But pity a man who falls and has no one to help him up!
Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm.
But how can one keep warm alone?
Though one maybe overpowered, two can defend themselves,
A chord of three strands is not quickly broken.” |

Twenty years ago when we got married, we did not know Jesus, but today, we know for sure that God had chosen us for each other and it was his plan for our lives.
Every family is unique with each individual marriage partner bringing experience and values from his or her family. The choice of a marriage partner is certainly the most important decision a person can make. Marriage is a three way relationship, a chord of three strings. Two chords are the relationship of the spouses individually with their Heavenly Father and one chord is their relationship with each other. Today, when the devil is trying to break up families, with divorce rates on the increase, only a marriage built on the rock i.e. Jesus will stand firm.
We have discovered this secret and encourage you also to build your relationship on a one to one basis with Jesus.
The Bible gives us instruction to lead a happy family life. If you follow the principles given below you will see God's blessings in your life. |
- Foundation of love – love is the essential ingredient of all families. Be ready to do anything for your family in the everyday situations of life. Go all out for them. Prove your love not by words but in actions.
- Foundation of respect – family members should show respect to each other even in the time of disagreement on a particular topic.
- Foundation of communication – healthy communication is very important in the family.
- Foundation of forgiveness. – If you offend anyone in any way you should seek forgiveness quickly and forgive those who have offended you no matter how deeply you maybe hurt.
- Foundation of commitment – no matter what happens, commitment is very necessary for a family to survive.

| God himself is the solution to all marital and family problems, and He can be found through prayer, studying His word and by the wise counsel of Christian friends and church leaders |

God, I realize how important it is to have a happy family. I choose to take it seriously, the responsibility of establishing my own family in a way that is pleasing to you. I pray, Oh lord that this day you will fill my heart with your love, compassion, commitment and forgiveness that I may respect and have good communication within my family.
